Buttered Rum Cashew Ice-cream

20th November 2010
Awake in fathers gorgeous hotel in Bandera, Texas. Had the wierdest dreams about zombies-haha! don't ask! freaky though! boiled egg for breakfast and overcast weather outside! NOT FAIR! its supposed to clear later though! I arrived at San Antonio airport at 5pm yesterday and straight to dinner. Havent been back to Bandera for a year or so, so its nice to be here, see the changes and see Dad and Linda. Theres a cat here now too, although dad wont let her inside the house! HAH! typical!

I bummed around the house- took some photos, not too inspiring with the overcasst skies. Although did manage a good one here when the sun popped out and the blue sky opened up!Went for coffee at the new coffee house Dogleg Coffee House! haha! bizarre name hey! (is that how you spell bizarre? LOL!)
The sky had cleared completely now- so I scarpered off leaving Dad and Linda to look at some antique shoppys. I thought I would take a walk down the river! It got HOT!! I think 78 degrees. Wish I hadnt worn jeans.
The river was beautiful.
I think I have this new found fetish for trees and water!!!! LOL!!

I tell you- I didn't want to leave the sun was just perfect and soo warm- bliss!! but i had to go back to the house! I needed to pee- and i wasnt gonna drop me brechs out here- somethin' might grab me!! haha! I know Liz would have though! any excuse for a bit of outdoor nature living eh Liz?? haha!!

Got back in, grabbed myself a book and read out on the porch!

I know what Scotts doing right now!! laughing!!! and yes I did take a photograph of myself! LOL! but Liz wanted to see me here in these places! haha! Finally started that book too! Its a bit wierd Lizzy- but I shall persist!

Dinner at Mac and Ernies- NOT burt and ernies OR mac and cheese!!!!!!!
It was a really cool place, really casual, plastic plates and forks!! BUT the food was sooo GOOD! me and dad had steaks (we were allowed steak knives for this, although not so good on the old plastic plate) i had yummo jalopeno gravy on mine too. BUT the best part of this dinner-dessert! as always!ICE-CREAM! i am in luck with all these strange ice-creams lately. It was Buttered Rum Cashew flavour- wierd salty ice cream with this alcoholic liquor twist- crazy wierd but BOY OH BOY do I want some more right now! haha!! LOVED IT!!!

Sunday 21st November 2010

Today we went to Queen B's - an English Tea rooms in Ingram, Texas. It was the wierdest experience ever! It was like some old ladies house where she had hoarded all her junk over the years- soo many tea-pots- on the walls, the shelves, the floors, on the drive way on the way upto the little house, hanging tea pots! really crazy! like a cat ladies house! haha!! and the funniest thing was that the old lady who ran the joint, she looked like Helena Bonham Carter- an old lady version- crazy hair- white, pale skin, big cheek bones and piercing eyes! she was great!
We had Roast Lamb, yorkshire puds to start, and i had pumkin cheesecake for dessert! haha!! it was pretty yummy! very large portions though! but what they hey im not going to be able to afford real food for a while so i'll fit it all in!! YUM YUM!!!! YES Scott- fatty fatty boom boom! I hear ya!!

"Honey I found you"

My last week in Chalfont was filled with planning my next adventures, watching the kids play soccer!!!! haha!! Eating some goooooood food- 'Honey' in Doylestown has the most amazing ribs with ginger ice cream! seriously deelish! something you would find in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for sure! Alex you would LOVE it!! sewing Maddies brownie badges on her sash, playing some scrabble, some mexican train (dominoes) and drinking some red wine! not to mention- watching some paint dry!! haha!! actually!!
This was the day Scott lost his Saint Christopher on the field. We went back later searching for around an hour. I was thinking about how in "Honey I shrunk the kids" when the dad walks right near them, then turns just as he comes close and walks away. At this point of my thought I turned back to the direction I was facing and I saw it!!!! woo hooo!! spooky though huh?!

Boston, MA

November 10th 2010
Boston, what a city! So cute, and old, and GREAT all round atmosphere!
We didn't arrive until dinner time and stupidly thought it would be fine just driving into a city without any idea of where to go, where to stay etc. Luckily we had the sat nav and it guided us to a holiday inn (which I always thought were cheap) NO!!! 200 bucks later- we have a room with a VERY LARGE bed! no complaints there! Me and Scott could both starfish and not even notice either one was in the bed-perfect! LOL!
We went for a walk around town- I insisted I had to see the sea! It was pretty- I did take a picture of the skyline from the docks but on my crappy camera soo wasn't much good!
We both fancied a BIG STEAK for dinner so went to MOOO! haha! cool name for a steak place! pretty sick in fact but yum! We didn't stay up late that night. I know what your thinking, losers! LOL! There's always next time for the big Boston night out! And I'll leave it up to Jenni to take us (you better be there next time Miss Milne!) hehe!

November 11th
Woke up, not so bright and early and checked out!
The sky was perfect- not a cloud in sight and the sun was awesome! I love the old little streets here, they have these really cool street lamps as well.

We stumbled across a Finagle Bagel- WHAT A COOL NAME!! finagle hehehehehe! LOVE it! and had a breakfast bagel and coffee! mmmm deee lish!!!
There was definitely something going on in town, police were everywhere blocking up the streets and tv cameras. We guessed it was some sort of veterans rally maybe?? lots of military peeps dotted around and protesters in front of the tv cameras! FUN!

Through Boston Common- it was soo nice, still lots of colourful leaves on the trees!
This guy was WIERD! he was meditating sitting in the middle of the leaves and had his lap top and cat with him! If only I had a better zoom!! Crazy guy!

 I love tourists!!

Out of the park and a daylight walk to the sea!!! I have a thing for the sea- bit of a fetish I suppose!! I think I might have been a mermaid in a past life!! with Jill!! LOL or maybe just a fish! NAH..mermaid!

THE SEA
AND THE GULLS!

THE SKYLINE FROM THE SEA! SHAME I DIDNT GET A GOOD ONE AT NIGHT!

THEN...through Quincy Market. Orvis- mums favourite shop in Banchory! haha! soo weird to see it here!

p.s it wouldn't let me add the Sam's at CHEERS photos! BLA!!

We needed to leave by one :( i was VERY sad about this! I could have stayed and taken photos all day!! But we needed to get back to Bethlehem, PA to return a lap top to Scott's boss!
I carried on with some camera action on the way out-
THIS ONES FOR JILL-

It took us about 5 hours to drive back to Bethlehem. It was really pretty driving down through MA and Connecticut (cant believe thats how you spell it-three c's)
We did drive over George Washington Bridge- and OMG it was amazing! the sun was going down and the view over the skyline of New York City!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just amazing! I wish I could have stopped to take a photograph!! believe me I tried but the stupid bridge was in the way, and car door frame, and scott, and speed!!! eugh!!! It was picture perfect though!!! still thinking about it! OK- I'll show you what I got- hahaha!!! but you can almost see what I mean!! I thought about going through the sun roof!!LOL

After what seemed like the longest road trip in the world!!!! maybe due to the fact we went through five states and had NO RADIO!!!! We finally arrived in Bethlehem, PA, dropped off the lap top and then had a really good thai dinner- and then finally back to Chalfont to SLEEP!!!!! :D

Road Trip

From Diary to Blog- Bethlehem, PA 8th November 2010
Scott's at work and I have the car, its really sunny but BLOODY freezing, good thing I have the RAB jacket Elaine bought me. snuggly! I have my D40 and Im going to take a walk soon- might get some nice photos-cute town.
Def time to sit down for some coffee and warm up! The amount of leaves there are here. I don't think I have seen this many before LOL-
Right, gonna meet Scott for some lunch now, and then its my 4 hour journey up to Upstate New York, should be interesting!

Saratoga Springs, NY 9th November 2010
That 4 hour car journey turned into 5 and a half hours!!!!!!! MEN!! Scott had been playing with the bloody sat nav a few days before making it so it would avoid any tolls!! At least I took the scenic route. Still-It was rather dodge driving a 15 year old car into the mountains in a blizzard through some freaky old towns, where you might likely get attacked by toothless zombies!! OK! drama queen I know!! I finally made it to the hotel in Saratoga Springs and there was snow everywhere! First of the Year!

crap photos- but you get the idea about the snow!!! :P
Scott arrived at 9- him and his boss took 3 and a half hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! me= not impressed!! LOL

It's now 10am and Fresh Prince is on, think I'll take a walk around the town. It is soo cute. Miserable day though and I think most of the snow has gone :(

10th November
Went out for dinner last night- yum lasagna and Scotts boss paid! double yum! haha! Scott finishes work at 12 and we take a drive around Saratoga Lake.

Scott tells me he's got two days off work.
Tonight- BOSTON, MA

(Scott always helps, it's fine!!!!!)

The start of something

Remember remember the 5th of November!
I arrive in Philadelphia, PA
Uncle Bob is there to pick me up and take me back to Chalfont where I shall see the boy! My boy! Scott! hehe! After 2 and a half months- im pretty excited!! ;)
I am staying with Scott at his cousin JoAnne's house in Chalfont, its gorgeous!

The first thing I notice, it that it is still Halloween out here!! its crazy!

Out for a yummo dinner in Doylestown- gorgeous little town- could really live here! Then to the pub for a few-standard after an 8 hour flight (-5 hours gmt).
Saturday we went into Philadelphia itself. Cheeky hotel room booked with Scotts cousin and her boyfriend too. very cosy! After downing a MASSIVE bottle of wine we headed for Alma- a very nice bar round the corner from our hotel. Mojito after mojito!! we were all off our faces before dinner at 9.30!! whoops! and not the type of place you turn up drunk for!

The staff at Davios were not best pleased! LOL! Amy didnt make dinner and so Terry (the boyf) took her to bed- hilarious!! Me and Scott had a very posh dinner- mmm LOBSTER and mashed potatoes- couldnt ask for more yummyness! Terry the rockstar came back down from the hotel and ordered his dinner for the room and a dirty martini! The waiter was going mental! After another dirty martini, Terry's dinner had traveled upstairs then back down, and then back upstairs again!!!(as you probably had guessed- the restaurant was in our hotel) HAHA!! Apparently the manager from the colts was there too- american football- not a clue! :s and def not the place to be running in and out drunk! Terry went from wearing a very smart ironed shirt and jacket to a VERY crinkled white t-shirt with jacket( collar turned up this time)!! obviously just rolled into bed then out again-remembering it was only 9.30 and alcohol was still to be consumed!!!
The night ended in some hopping nightclub where me and scott were two of about 5 white people in the place! its cool though! we had it down with the dance moves! and scott made friends with two voluptuous ladies! HAH!
BIT OF A CRAZY NIGHT!

Sunday started well with chocolate chip pancakes in Marathon- and then a VERY hungover shopping trip and walk about Philly!! bleugh! I was glad to finally get back to Scotts and SLEEP!!
